Choosing the right tile
The tile you pick changes how the space looks, how easy it is to clean and how it holds up to water. This quick comparison helps:
| Tile type | Best for | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Porcelain | Shower walls and floors | Dense and water-resistant; works almost anywhere. |
| Marble-look porcelain | Luxury look without the upkeep | Looks like natural stone but doesn't need sealing like real marble. |
| Large-format slabs | Modern walls with few grout lines | Needs a very flat wall and special handling tools. |
| Mosaic | Shower floors and niches | Small pieces give grip underfoot and follow the slope to the drain. |
Where we install tile
Showers, niches and benches
A tiled shower is only as good as what's behind it. We waterproof the walls and pan, build niches for storage and add benches where there's room. Most of our tile work is part of a full bathroom remodel.
Bathroom and room floors
For floors we check that the subfloor is solid and flat, then lay tile with consistent spacing. Wood-look porcelain is a popular choice for basements and kitchens during a home renovation.
